HOW TO BE

A 12-chapter Christian Bible study built around the Beatitudes from the Sermon on the Mount, framed through an extended narrative dialogue between two characters, Lukas and Charlie, rather than presented as straight exposition. Lukas walks Charlie (and the reader) through each Beatitude in turn, reframing it as a practical "attitude" for daily Christian living: humility and dependence on God, controlled gentleness, hungering for righteousness, extending grace, purity of heart, peacemaking, and standing firm under opposition, before moving into related themes - living to influence others toward God, inward righteousness, sacrificial love, seeking God's approval over human attention, full trust amid uncertainty, and a closing call to actually live out what's been learned. The teacher-student conversational format, mixed with personal reflection and gentle humor, makes the theology accessible and discussion-friendly, positioning the book as well-suited for both individual devotional reading and small-group or discipleship study.
