"The #1 book that changed my life."
-Sam Parr, entrepreneur, podcaster, and the founder of The Hustle
Uncover the secret to incredible wealth with practical advice from self-made millionaire Felix Dennis.
Felix Dennis was an expert at proving people wrong. Starting as a college dropout with no family money, he created a publishing empire, founded Maxim magazine, made himself one of the richest people in the UK, and had a blast in the process.
How to Get Rich is his magnum opus—and it is not like any personal finance or self-help book you’ve ever read. Dennis isn’t selling snake oil, investment tips, or motivational nonsense. He instead asks a simple question: are you young, desperate, and hungry enough to do whatever it takes to get rich? If not, this book might not be for you. That’s fine! But if so…
This is a book of lessons in business, learned the hard way so you don’t have to. Dennis shares key insights and mindset shifts on the journey to getting very rich, including:Compulsion for money is mandatory.Cut loose from negative influences. Never give in.Ignore “great ideas.” Concentrate on great execution.Keep your eye on the ball marked “The Money is Here.”Hire talent smarter than you. Delegate.Ownership is what really matters.Sell before you need to, or when you’re bored.Fear nothing and no one.
Witty, true, and often hilarious, How to Get Rich is the only really honest guide for making gobs of money. Are you willing to do what it takes?
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This is not your usual get-rich-quick manual. Though Dennis, a poet (When Jack Sued Jill: Nursery Rhymes for Modern Times) and the founder of a publishing empire (including Maxim magazine), wants to help the reader rank at least among the "lesser rich" (equal to a net worth of $30 million $80 million by his definition), he isn't himself motivated by money. With his own fortune estimated at between $400 million and $900 million, he doesn't have to be. Instead, Dennis wants to demystify the money-getting process, and his straight-talking, honest advice makes a refreshing change in this oversaturated field. Using humorous examples from his own business life, Dennis's advice, from "The Five Most Common Start-Up Errors" to "The Power of Focus," might sound like conventional fare, but delivered in his signature bawdy, British style, it's altogether more entertaining and more practical. Dennis highlights the right strategies and mindset to get readers their millions, but he won't air-brush his story or soften the bitter truth along the way. As he says, when it comes to acquiring wealth, "being a bit of a shit helps."

Great book
Concise and poignant. I love it
Very good
It’s an philosophy book more than a practical
Changed my perspective.
I really have always wanted to be successful, in both life and money. I am currently in high school about to graduate and I want to be the next big thing, I want to drive that nice car and want people to adore me. But one chapter changed me forever, I won't say which for you may read it yourself and have your own opinion on it. But I don't want to be rich anymore, I'm already great at something and want to pressure it, who knows, I may get rich that way. But what will money do for me, I can buy thing yes, anything if I were rich. But that's it, I won't have friends that will always be with me, nor will I be happy with myself constantly having to work in my business. I'm fine witch being a "wage slave". Why? Because I'll still be me and could continue to be an influence in life no matter what. Being rich is probably cool, but I'd rather not waste my time on this earth trying to get rich or risking that, even if I succeed too much time would be wasted. You only have one life right? Many of you will still buy the book because you're desperate and you do you, but I'm not wasting time anymore. I'll just start reading books on social ideas and such, the stuff that actually makes us human. Good day.
