In the hustle and bustle of today's busy world, sometimes it's hard enough to hear yourself think, much less take a minute to stop and listen for the voice of God. But learning to recognize God's voice and the many ways in which He speaks is vital for following His plan. In How to Hear from God, Joyce Meyer shows readers that God reaches out to people every day, seeking a partnership with them to offer guidance and love. She reveals the ways in which God delivers His word and the benefits of asking God for the sensitivity to hear His voice. Joyce asks the question, "Are you listening?" and shares how to do just that.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
No-nonsense, best-selling author and Bible teacher Meyer explores the various modes God uses to communicate with his listening followers in this book geared for charismatic Christians. While most Christians would agree that the primary vehicle God utilizes to speak to believers is the Bible, Meyer adds several others that may raise eyebrows among conservative evangelicals. She asserts that devout Christians can and do hear from God via dreams, visions, an audible voice and what Meyer calls an "inner witness" that parallels the still, small voice mentioned in Scripture. She aims to encourage Christians to listen well, as she believes that very few followers of Christ ever fulfill God's perfect plan because they haven't perceived God's directives for their lives. Detailing various obstacles to hearing from God, Meyer candidly shares her own battles with busyness before expounding upon the dangers of rote religious activity, stubborn hard-heartedness, worldly viewpoints, unforgiveness and legalism. Finally, she offers the cure for these ills: the grace of God that brings blessed freedom and restoration. Meyer's trademark plainspoken style carries through here; as a spirit-filled spokesperson for God, she writes her words in the same style she would speak them. Some Christians may wonder about her tendency toward "verse claiming" the many instances where she thinks God is speaking directly to her through a message or lesson given to some biblical character. However, fans of Meyer's previous works will likely be delighted with this newest offering, and its back-to-basics approach will ensure new fans as well.

Y Jenkins Philadelphia.
I am not a fan of reading books; however I enjoyed this book a lot . It was clear with clear examples which made for a great read and clear understanding of how I can learn to here from GOD.
Informative
I found this book to be informative, insightful and encouraging. If there is one flaw for me, it is the writer's choice of bible version used to quote scriptures. She chose the Amplified bible which, with its added defining words written in brackets or parentheses within the text, made it difficult to read. I found those added definitions distracting from the flow of the passage and I don't think it helped in my understanding of the passages since tome, the meanings are clear. I don't doubt that some readers will find it helpful, but for me it was a constant annoyance throughout the entire book.
Much of the principles the writer talks about have been written about before: to hear God's voice one must delve deeply into His word, spend quiet time with Him and put Him first in Everything!
