Penelope and Eli’s story has them meeting when her and Kristie are at the local bar. Her ex fiancé and ex friend are back in town. So she is sitting beside Eli and ask him to pretend to be with her. When he agrees they keep it up for the next week until the ex’s leave. Penny decides she has feelings for Eli but she don’t know if she can be with a military man since her father died when he was deployed a while ago. But when Kristie talks to her about Eli she just might get the chance to get her hea with Eli.

Great 4 1/2 Star Read
Eli is an ex Navy Seal working at Silver Springs Ranch and a black ops contractor waiting for his next mission. Penny heads to a night out with her friend whence sees her cheating ex, with her ex bf back in town. Sitting by Eli, she asks him to play along as her date and he agrees. What starts as flirty fun, turns into one night, then more. But they both believe this can't become anything more. Eli has a dangerous job and Penny doesn't date military men. But can they resist? Sizzling, steamy, some drama, action, and HEA, this was a solid read.

I loved this book. The characters of Penny & Eli both are brave & beautiful. The guts it took for this pair to have the jobs they have is amazing. Penny’s story before she meets Eli shows a woman of great determination. The characters didn’t want to start off romantic, but fate had other plans. The way they fit together and Eli has all those prospective instincts. Needless to say, this ends with an HEA but what an awesome journey to get there!.
