Critical Information for Restored Worship
The American church has gone off the rails in producing sing-a-long Happy-Clappy stage shows instead of relevant worshipful environments that invite God’s presence.
For years I’ve wondered how we fell into the genre of ‘worship’ choruses that were 90% about ‘us’ instead of choruses directed ‘to’ God and His throne room.
Zach, unmasks and throws out the old shop-worn, narcissistic and misguided formulas for corporate worship and takes us back to practical but God-breathed principles for inviting HIS presence. What a concept, huh?
For some reason I can only listen to the audible version for short periods though.
For me, Zach’s voice is too youthful: to the point of taking credibility away from his otherwise, well presented work.
(I know that can help with leading worship. It did in Toronto) -but-
He just ‘sounds’ —like a slick 23 year old instead of a Pastor with significant experience.
My bias, I know; but one that affects my absorption of the audiobook.
A must for Worship Leaders
Love this book so much! Really opened my eyes and ignited my spirit into a more intimate relationship while worshiping my God! This is now a must read for anyone coming on board as a worship leader at my church.
Best Book on Worship I’ve EVER Read
I’ve been a Worship Pastor since I was 16. When asked to define “worship,” I knew the simple definition (ascribing to God His worth-ship) and the simple explanation (worship is a lifestyle, not an event), but I never knew the true depth of the intimacy with God that worship was designed to bring. I had never heard that I was called to “minister to God,” nor how to do that. Don’t miss this book!!! It will change not only your ministry, but your life. It did mine.
