“I'm done hurting her. She's been hurt enough. It's time I set her free...”
Once upon a time, I wished to go home and forget.
Now, I’m strong and ready to fight.
Seduced and claimed, Elder no longer just demands my voice, he commands me to be a thief like him.
I refuse.
But he offers me things I shouldn’t want, favours I should run from.
In return for his protection, I’m ordered to steal enough pennies and dollars to buy back my freedom.
Only, we both aren’t prepared for how he changes me, evolves me.
It’s my turn to learn about him.
It’s his wish to teach me how to be normal.
Until something goes wrong.
And our life together comes to an end.

Brilliant
Life Changing Story
Too much repetitive agonizing over stupid things
I liked the second book enough to buy this one. But this book dragged boringly with chapters and chapters of both characters agonizing over their personal demons, with only about 4 scenes of actual plot.
“How can I like sex, it seems that I do, but isn’t that impossible?” and “Oh woe is me, if I make love to her more than once I’ll get obsessed and never stop!”
I understand her issues as a two-year victim of constant rape and abuse, but his are just not plausible. He’s a billionaire who lives in a floating fortress. If he wants to stay on a boat and boink her 24/7 for the rest of their lives while playing the cello, what’s the problem? She thinks she would enjoy it. Give it a shot and get some therapy if it turns out it’s not working. Sheesh. There is at —least— 100 extra pages of him beating these dead horses. Again and again and again... all this agony and guilt because your dad went in debt to mobsters to buy you a cello when you were 8? Seriously?
Unfortunately, I’ll probably buy the next book because there’s some cliffhanger about the heroine’s mother. I hope that book isn’t as boring as this one was. Sigh.
