I Am Jack's Life

When Beth Jenkins, the hottest girl in school asks Jack to be her personal math tutor, Jack knows he's going to have problems.

See, at fifteen, Jack is just trying to make it through the day. Sure he's a freshman already in the running for valedictorian in three years, but Jack's tired of being shown the inside of dumpsters. Also he has a real problem with the opposite sex. He tends to forget subtle nuances of the English language when trying to speak to them, like basic sentence structure and, you know... words.

Not to mention her boyfriend is the day manager for nerd deposits at the bank of dumpster.

But everything is fine while he is just Beth's nerdy mascot, nursing the King Kong of all crushes. Then one of Beth's friends asks Jack out on a date for his eighteenth birthday, and their dynamic changes. Overnight he goes from zero to hero when he saves a girl from being date raped. Now he's not just on the outside looking in. He's Mr. Popular, dating a cute girl, friends with half their class, Valedictorian on his way to Stanford, and getting massive mixed signals from Beth, the girl of his teenage dreams.

In life, we are defined not just by our successes, but by our mistakes. Sometimes the hardest lesson to accept is the difference between who we imagine someone to be and who they really are. Especially when that person is yourself.
