nosh /näSH/

verb: eat food enthusiastically or greedily; eat between meals.

“Here bubuleh, I made you a tuna sandwich to nosh on while I get closer to death without any grandchildren.”

For New York Times bestselling author/food world darling Jake Cohen, noshing isn’t just a habit, it’s a lifestyle. Noshing is about hospitality, after all, whether that means keeping your fridge stocked with turkey club ingredients for the perfect midnight snack, or stashing a Big A** Lasagna or Braised Brisket in the freezer in case friends show up hungry and unannounced.

Very Tasty and Doable Recipes

So far I’ve made Iraqi Chicken Stew with Potatoes and T’Beet Iraqi Chicken and Rice. My kids who are quite picky and don’t like spice ate both of these recipes.
They were both doable, not a ton of prep and only 1 spice that I had to order, Baharat.

I thought that the T’beet was the real winner. The rice had such depth of flavor and complexity and was a real hit for our Shabbat guests and family. The chicken was flavorful a bit overcooked maybe (have to adjust temperature down a bit next time) but worth it just for the rice.

I’m excited to try the Jew-mami brisket and Cholent both sound delicious and seem to have the a deep flavor profile.

I’d never made Iraqi food and was very pleased with the outcome.
