Underrated book
I first read this book when I was around 11 or 12. There aren’t many pages I can’t remember and along with Pierre Clostermann’s similar ‘The Big Show’ - both are outstanding and similar accounts of aerial warfare that will probably (certainly?) never be seen again. I’ve now got 14,000+ hours in Boeings and have flown over Germany once a month or so for 30+ years. Though not religious I have always said a silent prayer for Wenneckers, Specht, Nowotny etc and the inconceivable experiences they shared over those now harmless skies - on the German side, made all the more difficult against overwhelming odds. Outstanding reading.
Narrative issues
So much potential with this book however and unfortunately the narrative was choppy. Also there were some misspellings in book.
