Publisher Description

Police officers shot . . . judges murdered . . . and Detective Michael Bennett is the killer's next target.
Detective Michael Bennett arrests an infamous Mexican crime lord in a deadly chase that leaves Bennett's lifelong friend dead. From jail, the prisoner vows to rain epic violence down upon New York City-and to get revenge on Michael Bennett.
To escape the chaos, Bennett takes his ten kids and their beautiful nanny, Mary Catherine, on a much-needed vacation to his family's cabin near Newburgh, New York. But instead of the calm and happy town he remembers from growing up, they step into a nightmare worse than they could have ever imagined. Newburgh is an inferno of warring gangs, and there's little the police-or Bennett-can do to keep the children safe.
As violence overwhelms the state, Bennett is torn between protecting his hometown and saving New York City. A partner in his investigations, federal prosecutor Tara McLellan, brings him new weapons for the battle-and an attraction that endangers his relationship with Mary Catherine. A no-holds-barred, pedal-to-the-floor, action-packed novel, I, Michael Bennett is James Patterson at his most personal and most thrilling best.

I Michael Bennett

Mike is a refreshing change from Alex Cross, who is really getting old. Just keep mike fresh and don't over do it and I will keep reading. I love the quick, short chapters.

Very disappointed

What the heck? I've read most of everything that Patterson has written and have been overall pleased with his work. But this one...I don't know if it was his co-author or just some brain cells dying off, but this was pathetic. It started off okay but went quickly downhill. His interactions with his two lady friends baffle me. Will the next episode having Mike admitting his love for his dead friend? Is that why he chose not to interact with either woman? And the police procedures? You shame the FBI and the NYPD in their inability to perform their tasks even adequately. And finally, the "ending". What was up with that? I've enjoyed his previous novels where characters have gone on to other adventures, but this ending is ridiculous. It's as though you ran out of typing paper and time and had to submit what you had. You took money from me under false pretenses James Patterson. I paid for a whole book and got cheated. Bad author. No book jacket with a cool leather coat and a golden.

I, Michael Bennett

Typical great Patterson book until the last page. I absolutely do not like books that just "quit". I, like another reviewer, thought my iPad skipped something in error. Very disappointing
