Every New Yorker cartoonist knows rejection. Some of us self-mutilate and Mick Stevens has just turned it all into wonderful stories that add up to the best description what it's really like to be a cartoonist I've ever read.

This has been my favourite Summer read. His observation of fellow cartoonists Roz Chast, Jack Ziegler and Sam Gross through recipes named after them is priceless.

Mick Stevens, has a mind that explodes with genius and a light touch and grace that make The Blook a complete delight.
