I.See.Dark is an artistic exploration of mortality, fate, and strength in overcoming the unknown. Employing linguistic and visual cues from European witchcraft and folklore, Ibañez creates a slow-burning narrative of fear and resistance in the face of challenge and despair. In a departure from earlier collections, I.See.Dark is shot entirely in vintage black and white outside the studio. The collection is deeply personal, with much of the series staged in the countryside where Ibañez grew up and faced his own hardships. Drawing on these incidents, Ibañez depicts how individuals experience and eventually learn to see beyond the harrowing events they endure.
