İstanbul Photo Awards 2021

The İstanbul Photo Awards is an international news photography competition organized by Anadolu Ajansı (AA), a global news agency with over 100 years of experience. Aiming to contribute to the field of news photography, the competition rewards the efforts of courageous and talented professional photographers from around the world based on merit. The İstanbul Photo Awards has become one of the world's most renowned news photography competitions.
The İstanbul Photo Awards 2021 photo book features news, sports, daily life, and portrait photographs from the previous year that were deemed worthy of awards, ranging from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic that has gripped the world to the Beirut explosion and the Nagorno-Karabakh war, from children learning karate in Aleppo to the Kok Boru rituals, the national sport of Kyrgyzstan. The cover of the book features the photo titled “Mother's Love” taken by photojournalist Muhammad Shajahan in Bangladesh, which was awarded “Photo of the Year.”
