I survived the killing fields
This is a heart wrenching life tale of one man's experience in Cambodia during the time of the Khmer Rouge. Bravery, tenacity and dreams or his keys to make a life for himself and his family.
Enlightening book - easy read
This book tells the the life story of the author, a survivor of the Khmer Rouge. I was only vaguely aware of the Khmer Rouge, but got the book after meeting the author at his restaurant. I found it extremely enlightening to read this first-hand account. It was also inspiring to read this story of an immigrant to the U.S. and think about the many other immigrants who have come to the U.S. to start a new life. Further, it's written in a very accessible, easy-to-read manner, so even if reading autobiographies is not your cup of tea, you should get a lot from this one without requiring a lot of time. All in all a great book!
