Injured in Iraq, Army doctors suspect Drew Baxter, a giving person, has Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. After his discharge and a depressing experience in Las Vegas, he lives alone in Lavallette, a beach community on the Jersey shore. His compulsion becomes a magnet for confrontations. He takes on a heavy-handed boss, an ambitious mayor and a scheming attorney. Drew endures heartbreaks and guilt. These personal tragedies exacerbate his recurring nightmare and inner conflict.
