Elbriarien Itamar—or just El, for short—an Ice Elf from the frozen north, has spent her life fighting ice demons. After a disappointing review from her magical mentor, she decides to head south and find herself a better life.

But what is she going to do? El knows no one, and everything is different: the people, the architecture, and especially the food!

Still, she has dreams. And a willingness to learn, even if she can only do the simplest of spells without her Mage Mark.
