Publisher Description
From USA TODAY Bestselling Author Claudia Burgoa comes an enthralling single dad, hockey romance that skates through the challenges of forbidden love, healing after trauma, and found family.
They say never mix business with pleasure.
As a single father, and the captain of the Seattle Sasquatches, I’m adamant to keep every corner of my life separate and running perfectly.
That is, until Indie Decker walked into my life.
She’s the team owner's little sister, my new nanny, and so completely out of my league.
Our first encounter? Pure fire, clashing wills with a passion that ensnared us both. Our second? A tentative truce, maybe even a budding friendship. But at some point, we slid recklessly into a 'friends with benefits' arrangement, thinking we could stay casual.
Wishful thinking, I know.
With each passing day, our no-strings-attached fling starts weaving threads between us that I’m not ready to cut. Indie’s fierce independence clashes with my need to protect, to heal, and to love her despite her weariness to open up.
But will my steadfast will and soft hands be enough to get through her defenses? Or am I doomed to sit in the penalty box of Indie’s heart?
Ice, Love, & Other Penalties is part of the family Decker but can be read as a standalone.

Broken, hidden pieces
Broken, hidden pieces…
Indie has a crush on her older brothers BF, but when she turned eighteen, he took something from her that she hides behind a wall of anxiety.
Tiberius is a single father by choice and his nanny just quit. He’s a diva in Indie’s eyes, but she steps in to be his temporary nanny. (This is a huge stretch, just use a nanny service, peeps). But the author needs them to start hooking up, as a nanny with benefits sitch.
I liked Tyberius.
Indie and Ty a love that can melt the ice
4.8 stars
I have loved the Deckers since they were first introduced and it has been a pleasure watching each one have their tale told. This is Indie’s story and it is a doozie in the best way. Ms. Burgoa is a master storyteller that pens the words that evoke emotions and give her characters a real-life quality that only heightens the situations they find themselves in. Tyberius, aka Ty, is the captain of the Seattle Sasquatches and has recently moved to the area with his daughter Myra. Having relocated, there are certain accommodations that fell through the cracks when it came to the team’s relocation division, and it didn’t help that Ty’s nanny had to leave. Needing assistance, Ty reaches out to Jude, the team’s general manager/owner, and he guilts his sister Indie to work as a nanny for Ty’s daughter. From their first meeting, their attraction is evident but each one has an aversion to love based on their own preconceived notions. These two are perfect for each other and their banter is on point. Ty takes the time to really get to know Indie and learn what makes her tick. Indie learns that she can lean on someone else and that she is strong in her own right. Overall, this is one slow burn storyline that has all the spice and everything nice with some fun thrown in for added pleasure. If you like a single father and hockey romance, then this is one to one click and add to your shelf asap.
Slow burn to love
Slow burn, single dad, age gap, issues that needs to be worked out on both sides but is filled with such emotion and a wanting to love but so fearful of never finding it. Grab Ty and Indie’s journey to see if they can find that love and make that family they’ve always wanted. Love it!
