Casabianca

James Arthur Baldwin was an American novelist, essayist, playwright, poet, and social critic. His essays, as collected in Notes of a Native Son (1955), explore palpable yet unspoken intricacies of racial, sexual, and class distinctions in Western societies, most notably in mid-20th-century America, and their inevitable if unnameable tensions. Some Baldwin essays are book-length, for instance The Fire Next Time (1963), No Name in the Street (1972), and The Devil Finds Work (1976).

Casabianca is a famous short story by James Arthur Baldwin. The story is about a young captain's son whose name is Casabianca. Once there is a great battle at the sea. And the captain and his son fight against the enemies. The flames are almost all around the ship, but the son is very brave and trust in his father and himself. Casabianca hears nothing, he does not know that his father has already died. He is still standing on the board, he is still waiting for his father...
