Secrets, spies, sexy guys. Staying alive is hard!
In this fast-paced mystery, out-of-work actress Madison Cruz runs an obstacle course of singing telegrams and spies as she tries to connect with her FBI mother, yet hide evidence for her grandfather. Hilarious friends aren't helping even though they really, really, try to! As the mystery heats up, so does her attraction to a couple of steamy guys she just met. With two to choose from you'd think Madison could have double the fun. But she can't think about that right now because the enemy is right behind her.
A humorous mystery, laced with romantic comedy.
Fast Paced Funny Mystery
Lots of humor, mystery, intrigue and a fast paced story make this a delightful book to read. Thankfully, she already has another book out because I had to quickly download it to find out what happens next in Madison Cruz's life!
Hot scheming mess
Excellent book! My first exposure to Lucy Carol certainly won't be my last!
I loved the characters and the plot that twists and turns!
Quick, fun read!
Madison Cruz is an actress, trying to make a living in Seattle. Well, she wants to be an actress, but all she seems to be getting are singing telegram gigs. But a girl’s gotta pay the bills, so she does what she has to. Even if it puts even more strain on her already less than close relationship with her FBI agent mother. Now, her grandpa is in some sort of trouble, and he gives Madison a confusing set of old papers and photographs, telling her to keep them safe until he comes for them. And then, he disappears. There are mysterious people who desperately want to get their hands on grandpa’s papers, and Madison is left trying to puzzle it out, along with attempting to reach out to her mother and trying to choose between the two handsome guys vying for her attention.
This was a fun read! I don’t usually read romances, but I do like humor and mystery, so I decided to give it a try. And I was not disappointed. The romance was really a small part of the story, with the mystery taking center stage. It’s a good puzzle and had me guessing in more than one spot. The humor is almost non-stop, but not over the top.
Characters are mostly interesting, although the cast is a bit large, and I found myself confused at times, trying to keep them all straight. Madison herself is wacky and weird, and definitely in over her head with grandpa’s secret, but she pulls through in her own madcap style.
