This book is about nebulae-- massive clouds of cosmic gas and dust set aglow by the borrowed light of stars. In cosmic terms, a nebula is as fleeting as a sunset or a campfire, and to many casual stargazers, just as beautiful. With stunning, full-color original images and easy-to-read descriptions, this book will delight “armchair astronomers” who wish to learn more about the workings of the universe and the lives and deaths of stars.

The Armchair Astronomer
This is a very beautiful e-book made for iBooks with spectacular high resolution photos of all the different types of nebulae, from the brightest and most familiar like the Orion Nebula to fainter and less known but also very beautiful like the Lobster Claw Nebula. The text is easy to understand.
It uses e-book capabilities well to present videos, galleries to display multiple versions of the same photo highlighting diferent aspects of the nebula, and annotated versions of photos. I particularly like the annotated versions of photos and would welcome more annotated photos in the next volume.
