A suspenseful romance
Love is an illusion…
Or so it seems to Madeleine.
Stranded during a thunderstorm, while spending yet another hard-earned holiday sorting out her mother’s chaotic love life, is proof enough. Not least because this time the creep has stolen her mother’s money and disappeared without a trace in France.
But Madeleine can’t deny the sparks of desire when a reclusive tycoon offers her shelter at his family chateau. Until a growing undercurrent of secrecy makes her doubt the enigmatic Frenchman.
Tragedy shaped Jean-Luc Delacroix’s life long ago. It’s made him overprotective of his sister and wary of strangers. However, when he discovers Madeleine is chasing a dangerous con artist, he’ll stop at nothing to protect her.
But his toughest fight of all is convincing Madeleine that happily ever after exists, even though his own family is testament that doesn’t.
Set in the beautiful French countryside, Gathering Storm is a standalone, suspenseful romance featuring a sinfully sexy hero, dark family secrets, and a heart-racing conclusion.
Can I have a Frenchman, too?
This was such a good story!! I liked Jean-Luc the sexy swoony lead with Madeleine. He was an interesting character and it was fun getting to know him. Madeleine was also a delight! She always gets stuck helping her mother out of her predicaments and her latest is a doozy. Good thing Madeleine has a certain Frenchman to help her out.
The suspense element is small compared to the romance element, but it makes for an enjoyable read!!
The story takes place in France and there is some French throughout, but it’s not necessary to know the language to enjoy the story.

Madeleine Isn’t the Biggest believer in love, but as she uncovers plenty of dark secrets, can Jean-Luc help her uncover her family’s secrets, while keeping her safe? It was a really good romantic suspense
