Runt, Cricket, is an honorary beta of Team Greywolf, an elite special ops branch of the Lycan Intelligence Agency. As a member, she poses as a human and collects forensic evidence. Because of her low rank, she is assigned in the rehabilitation of Prince Slade suffering from morphogenesis after his entire pack is murdered, and then his indoctrination as a member of their team. Babysit a psycho, domineering alpha? Not on her watch. To complicate matters, she lusts for Slade. Foolish. A runt can never take an alpha as a mate.
Slade has two choices. Honor his murdered kin and serve Team Greywolf, or once healed, obey King Conan and return to his territory with an alpha mate. Complicating his decision is his relentless desire for the hot sexy little she-wolf, Cricket.
Early into his recovery, Slade and Cricket are sent to investigate missing werewolves. An unstable werewolf seems hardly a match for a former Nazi werewolf bent on bringing on Ragnarok, the destruction of mankind.
Can they stop this evil regime, while conforming to pack law that forbids any chance of them fulfilling their desire for each other?

I have received this for an honest review. This was such a great book. I think Eva Gordon did an amazing job. I was first introduced to Cricket in the box set Alpha Wolf’s Pet. No you do not have to read that series to understand this one. But I had loved her in that book and was so looking forward to this book coming out.
Cricket might be a “runt”. A lot of other wolves from other packs might underestimate her and think she is not worthy of time and to have a mate but they are so wrong. In this book she proved she was so worthy. She was feisty. I just loved her spirit. In this book Cricket had proved her worth time and time again. I know she surprised Prince Slade a few times. Sorry you will have to read the book to find out all she done.
Slade was in trouble. His whole pack had been killed. He blamed himself. He was suffering from morphopsychosis. There was something about Cricket that calmed his wolf. At first they thought it was because the wolf looked at her as helpless and something it needed to protect, but truthfully I think as soon as the wolf smelled her it knew she was their mate. Loved the nickname Slade had for Cricket. His little wolf.
It is forbidden for an Alpha to mate with a runt. That did not keep Slade from wanting her. He was not going to let anything take her away. I love jealous he had when it came when someone looked her way or even the thought of another man with her.
I did not like King Conan in the series Alpha Wolf’s Pet and did not like him in this book. The thing about King Conan and Prince Slade is they both might be royalty but were so opposites of each other. Whether it was the fact Slade came close to losing his humanity or whether it was just his way of thinking he did not see Cricket as something unworthy. Yes he worried about her being accident prone. (you will love the circumstances she finds herself in) At first he was even worried about her size but it did not take long for her to have respect in his eyes. With King Conan I do not think Cricket had respect. She could of took on a slew wolves and came out on top and all King Conan would see is the unworthy runt.
I loved Rylee in this book who was the head of Lycan Intelligence. She loved Cricket just like a daughter. I love the motherly concern that she has for Cricket. I love the fact that she see Cricket more then a runt. Rylee sees Crickets worth and I believe if Slade would of hurt her or allowed her to get hurt Rylee would of forgot his was royalty. Yip, I think he would of felt Rylee wrath very quickly
Slade and Cricket find themselves in danger. The bad ones that want Slade want to erase his memory. Cricket knows if this happens he will forget her. Cricket must find away to keep Slade safe.
This is a book well worth reading. Looking forward to reading more books in this series.
Shifter romance with spies and danger
Shifter romance with spies and danger. Cricket might of be the runt and more human than wolf, but she doesn't let it stop her. She is a very strong willed and intelligent woman. Slade is a wolf prince and alpha. After his whole pack is murdered he becomes almost feral. But a little runt seems to be the one to tame him and maybe his heart. Now if the werewolves that are kidnapping other wolves can be stopped before more wolves and human are killed, there may be a HEA.
Received book from author for an honest review.
Cricket may be an underdog but she is fearless
This story has so much action, adventure, romance, and gorgeous wolves. Prince Slade being the third son doesn't hold with stuffy Royal attitudes. Trained as a soldier he's more at home with Team Greywolf. Cricket having been taken in by Greywolf's leader Rylee has become an integral and valued member of the team, despite her low status in werewolf hierarchy. She and Slade make a heck of a team, is it only for this mission?
