Publisher Description
USA Today Bestselling Author Lisa Hughey has a new series! What do you do when you’re the victim of a crime but no one believes you? Adams-Larsen Inc and Associates, ALIAS, helps ordinary citizens in danger when they need to disappear.
Opposites attract, unfortunately.
She’s a Rule Breaker
Kita Kim’s badass exterior hides a wounded heart. The private security expert dedicates her days to protecting those who are weaker, and if she has to break a few rules to make sure they’re safe, so be it.
He’s a Rule Follower
US Marshal, Alex Saunders, always follows the rules—with one exception, and now he’s paying the price. He needs a win on this current detail, babysitting a judge with a stalker, so he can get back to federal witness protection. But in the way of his return is a new partner who seems intent on ignoring the rules.
But sometimes you have to break the rules to survive…
Kita and Alex strike sparks while competing to see who can solve the mystery of the case first. Eventually they have to compromise and work together to figure out who is behind the escalating threats and how to stop them. He can’t seem to stay away from her, even though their attraction breaks his rules. But this protective detail might just be the death of them--Because their client is keeping secrets that could kill.
Customer Reviews
Fun, quick read!
For a quick read, this was full of action and suspense from the first chapter to the last. It was a bit rushed, but also to be expected in a shorter read. There was insta-lust/love for our MC's who struggled with their attraction to each other. An opposites attract story where both influenced the other to soften their rough edges and meet in the middle. This looks like it will be part of several standalone series. This particular storyline wrapped up but there is also a background story that hints at more to come. Great writing, interesting plot and I would like to read more from this series.
