The Austro Sino Arts Program (ASAP) and its sister initiative, The Embassy of the Arts (TEotA) have organised exhibitions, film screenings, public installations, workshops, and publications since 2008. The initial idea formed by a group of artists has grown and transformed in its years of existence. Ground-breaking public interventions spanning from Beijing to Nanjing and large transformations of entire streets can now all be added to the highlights of this cultural undertaking.
This 7th publication, titled, “The Gallop of the Courser” after Lisa Truttman’s video installation, continues our encyclopaedia of foreign arts activities in China with a focus on Austrian artists supported by the Arts and Culture division of the Federal Chancellery of Austria and the arts council of the county of Salzburg.
