Could not put this book down!
Fast paced with characters who felt real. Found myself holding my breath in a few places, horrified in some and smiling in others. This is the third book I’ve read by this author and have enjoyed them all!
Fantastic Read
The Getaway is a very dark romantic suspense story focusing on Sam, a U.S. Deputy Marshal, and Lucia, who has stolen two children from her extremely rich boss after finding out he has sexually abused one of them. Sam must decide if he should turn Lucia over to the authorities and return the children, or help keep the children from their depraved father. I am glad I decided to read this book by Hope Anika and will definitely be reading more of her books in the future.

Wow
Lucia’s conviction was so powerful and quite inspiring. She really is willing to do anything to prevent history from repeating itself—no matter what it costs. This was a hang on to your seat book with so much action packed in that I couldn’t wait for the next chapter. I also really like Lucia’s attitude regarding Sam, especially when she being so protective. She reminded me of a mother bear protecting her cubs. I’ve only read a few of Hope’s novels, but so far I’ve been quite impressed. She really makes romantic suspense a blast to read
