From the author of the groundbreaking series, A Prairie Heritage, comes the compelling story of fiery-haired, fiery-tempered Tabitha Hale. Rescued from a life of depravity, Tabitha gives her heart to God and her life to nursing.
As this tenacious, redeemed woman perseveres toward her vocation, her temper and stubborn independence threaten to derail her aspirations. Will Tabitha pass the trial by fire that is necessary for God to truly use her?
And what is Tabitha to do with her feelings for Mason Carpenter, the man who simply refuses to give up on her? Is it even possible for God to ordain a shared future for two such different people, both with fervent callings upon their hearts?
When the Great War erupts in Europe, Carpenter leaves for England to train British pilots to fly reconnaissance missions over Belgium and France. Soon after, Tabitha hears God asking her to nurse the war wounded. However, because America has not joined in the fight, Tabitha has few options. Will the elite British Nursing Service make a place for her? Will they accept the services of an American volunteer?
And will Tabitha and Mason overcome the differences that stand between them?

Well written. Great historical perspective of WWI. Many instances of redemption, hope, faith and forgiveness. I covered multiple layers of Tabitha’s life and Christian walk.
Highly recommend you add this book to your reading list. Very well written and captivating to keep you turning the pages. Emotional and touching story.
Great at First
I liked the storyline and the originality especially in the first half of the book. I wished the author had based the book solely on tabithas journey in Christ. Basically a before and after. While the author attempted to do this, the author barely touched the surface. The inclusion of the ww2 storyline was what ended my interest in the book. Not only did the story not provide a meaningful addition to tabithas story, it takes the conversation away from the original story and premise of the book which was a young woman who found Christ despite a horrid past and the challenges and obstacles faced by those living by faith. I think there should be a continuation of tabithas story that addresses tabithas post Christ acceptance life. Basically about trials and hardships pushing the limit of her Christian faith. Other than this, the book isn’t bad.
