An Intriguing Story!
Intriguing, suspenseful and emotional are a few of the descriptions that come to mind as I turn the last page. For a novella, this story packed in enough at a fast pace to keep my attention from the beginning. Things are not always as they appear and Freya Campbell, owner of a bawdy house is not what she seems. Captain Ewan Fraser on the other hand is trying to make up for past wrongs done by his father siding with the British against his own people. Seeking Freya's aid to check on his mother, who he cannot go to, Ewan is desperate to find out if she is safe. Freya has her own family hidden out and in the end agrees to help Ewan. This is a journey of two people who may seem worlds apart, but are brought together for a common cause. Both having seen and experienced some of the worst life can give, end up finding something special that will be challenged and possibly torn apart. Madeline Martin is a wonderful storyteller who I always enjoy reading. You will not be disappointed!!
Another Great By Madeline Martin!!
Madeline Martin’s writing keeps getting better and better, not that I thought that was even possible as her prior books are amazing. The storyline was wonderful and the visual was so descriptive I could just picture it all in my mind. The Madam’s Highlander has ambitions, pride, kindness, a love for family and a trust that is put to the test, hard work, desertion, traitors, evil, rape, battle and duty, even a brothel, in other words it has it all. I highly recommend this Novella as you won’t be disappointed. So travel back in time to 1746 Edinburgh, Scotland to Molly’s Brothel with Ewan and Freya on an adventure like no other.
