The Cloud

The writings of the anonymous author of The Cloud of Unknowing represent the 'timeless' aspect of the Christian spiritual tradition. Though written in the fourteenth century, they certainly speak to the women and men of today. It is almost as though they were written for our age.


The book contains a series of short reflections on these writings, showing how they relate to the wider Catholic traditions of both East and West, and to the spiritual needs of contemporary Christians. It is hoped this book will be a source of encouragement for all who are engaged in the quest for a deeper prayer life.
