Publisher Description

The young adult adaptation of the acclaimed, #1 New York Times bestseller Just Mercy--now a major motion picture starring Michael B. Jordan, Jaime Foxx, and Brie Larson and the subject of an HBO documentary feature!

In this very personal work--adapted from the original #1 bestseller, which the New York Times calls "as compelling as To Kill a Mockingbird, and in some ways more so"--acclaimed lawyer and social justice advocate Bryan Stevenson offers a glimpse into the lives of the wrongfully imprisoned and his efforts to fight for their freedom.

Stevenson's story is one of working to protect basic human rights for the most vulnerable people in American society--the poor, the wrongly convicted, and those whose lives have been marked by discrimination and marginalization. Through this adaptation, young people of today will find themselves called to action and compassion in the pursuit of justice.

A portion of the proceeds of this book will go to charity to help in Stevenson's important work to benefit the voiceless and the vulnerable as they attempt to navigate the broken U.S. justice system.

Very good book

Anyone who would like to understand fighting for injustice in a legal sense, this is the right book for you.

Amazing!!

This book was on my school’s summer reading list. We had three books to read and like a typical high school student during the summer, I was not excited to spend my summer doing homework for all my classes, but on the first day of summer I was curious as to what this book was about and opened it up to read the first page. I thought that I would spend just a couple minutes reading the first few pages but the more I read, I could not put it down. I read and finished the book in less than 24 hours. I was so blown away by the beautiful writing and stories/events that were shared I could not take my eyes off the paper. This book quickly became my all time favorite book and I recommend it to everyone!

Version is an Adaptation

NOT. Should be 1 Star. See note below...
Purchased by mistake. I didn’t want the adaptation for young adults. No where is it clear how to notify and return for refund. Readers should be careful when searching. This version was first option.

So it won’t let me post a 1 star rating as it requires a “nickname”. I entered more than a dozen, including some absurd ones and they’re all taken.
