This book explores the values that a listener should adopt if she wishes to learn enough in listening to others that there is often a surprise in what is learned.  Listening this deeply requires one to honor, respect, and love themselves and person being listened to.  For most of us getting to such a place is a life long journey and requires a new confrontation with the self with every listening event to be sure that these values are in place at that very moment.
