Next to Always

Rade and Dylan just can't seem to catch a break with everyone trying to pull them apart. Another huge cliffy that was obvious with the way the information was building up around them. Rade was a bit slow on the uptake and he was starting to act like a victim instead of the take control kind of a guy he was. Dylan, who didn't inspire much with her also being the naïve victim, was sweet with the knack of trusting the wrong people.
Not sure I want to read more about the awful drama brewing between Rade, Chloe, and Dylan. My bloodthirsty desire for revenge and retribution may not ever be satisfied!

Next to Never

This book is the first in the Shattered Innocence trilogy. This novel focuses on the relationship between Dylan Adams, a young woman mourning the recent loss of her fiancé, and Rade Matheson, a wealthy businessman who initially romances her while seeking information about the millions of dollars her fiancé stole from him but eventually finds himself drawn to her. The plot of the book is intriguing and the storyline includes drama, suspense, betrayal, unexpected twists and turns, and steamy sexual content. The book is well written, easy to read, and believable primary and secondary characters. This is the first novel I have read by A.L. Long and I found it to be a very good read. Beware, this book does end in a cliffhanger and the series is continued in the second book of the triology entitled Next to Always. I recommend this book for purchase.
