Publisher Description
Got Trouble?
Cary Redmond sure does. This time with a particularly sexy leopard shifter who seems to think she's his mate, a faery mentor who's suddenly made himself scarce, and an ancient demon searching for a mysterious, mystical source of power in the forest outside of town. Throw in a vulnerable kid for her to keep safe and it's just another day in the life of Portland's resident Protector—save the innocent, manage her private life, keep all hell from breaking loose, and try not to die.
Easy, right?
Oh boy.
Customer Reviews
Good story
Lots of action and suspense.
Awesome
Totally different story than I expected.
The Trouble with Black Cats and Demons
The lead character, Cary, is immediately likable, and I found myself quickly invested in her situation with the paranormal. Sexy Deacon is enough to make even an old girl like me wistful, LoL. While I thoroughly enjoyed their story, the work of a proofreader is really, sorely needed. I can easily overlook obvious typos, but the misuse of words like effect for affect, quite for quiet, peak for peek, etc., just pull me right out of the story. A proofreader would also catch changes of verb tense within sentences, which occurs rather a lot in this book. However, if you’re not nerdy enough for these things to REALLY bother you, then I think you’ll very much enjoy this first book of the series. I am looking forward to starting the next one.
