Hope Mitchell lived her life on the outskirts, no attachments, no friends, no family. All of this by design. All of it because she knew the pain that came when you lost someone who meant something to you. She'd sworn off men long ago, the last time she fell in love she'd invited the devil into her heart and she'd lost, huge. That was to say, she knew better than to let the larger-than-life Delta Force operator into her life. Hope recognized the risk but Beau had promised her he would fight for her and he did—until he left her more broken than he found her.
Beau "Jangles" Talbot had promised himself he wouldn't fall for a woman while he was still in the Army. He'd seen it too many times before—a good woman getting worn down by the demands of being a military wife. But when he meets the gorgeous bartender Hope Mitchell, he does the unthinkable and falls in love. Then his worst nightmare comes to fruition and Hope is thrown into a dangerous situation because of him and his teammates.
One mission—five women—everything is on the line. Jangles and his teammates have one shot at getting it right, one chance at extraction, or every man on his team loses the women they love.
** Hope's Delta is the 5th and final book in the Delta Team Three Series. Each book is a stand-alone, with no cliffhanger endings.
** Operation Alpha is a fan-fiction world for Susan Stoker's novels. The characters in this series were introduced in Stoker's Delta Team Two series, specifically, book two, Shielding Kinley. You don't have to read that book to be engrossed in this series, but why wouldn't you want to? Enjoy!

It’s Jangles and Hope’s story and boy is it something! Hope tends bar at the team’s favorite hangout. They’ve been knocking boots for a while, on the down low, they think. Unlike her name, Hope doesn’t have much. Something from the past keeps her thinking she doesn’t deserve to be happy, but Jangles/Beau is determined to change that. The road to love is never smooth, especially when there’s an uber alpha Delta Force operative involved.
Fast-paced and exciting
Hope and Beau’s (or Jangles, if we’re going by his team name) story was such a wild, emotional ride. This profoundly damaged young woman was both heartbreaking and inspiring as she moved on with her life after numerous tragedies in her past. Beau was that alpha hero I adore....the one with the squishy marshmallow center. From page one, I couldn’t put the book down and was absorbed into both their relationship and the action of Delta Team 3.
I’m not going to give any of the plot away, but I will say you need to pay attention to the team names, “real” names and their significant other’s names. With numerous secondary characters, it can get confusing. And although this is the last of the series, you don’t need to read any other the other books to enjoy Hope’s Delta. But I will go back and check them out, because I want more of these great characters. And I recommend checking out Susan Stoker’s series as well, to read where the inspiration for this series came from.
Great storyline and dialogue, not to mention compelling characters. I’m so happy to have discovered Riley Edwards and her wonderful books.
Jangles & Hope
Beau “Jangles” Talbot, member of Delta Team #3, is the last man in his team to find his “forever girl”. Beau doesn’t think he has what it takes to make a relationship work. He has a nice arrangement going with Hope, the bartender where he and his team go to relax after a mission. They are strictly friends with benefits. When he’s away on a mission, Hope stays at his apartment and takes care of his cat. When he returns, she’s a willing participant in bed. If she wants to leave, she has a RV she calls home. It’s easy, until Beau starts wishing for more. No more “hiding” his relationship with Hope and no more of her living in a tiny RV.
Hope Mitchell made decisions in her past that led to devastating results. Hope lays the blame squarely on her shoulders for the actions of an abusive ex. The only family she has left has disowned her. As a result, she is convinced that she doesn’t deserve a HEA. Beau is on his way to fully convincing her that he will always have her back when she’s kidnapped by a terrorist. His team is sent on a successful rescue mission, but he abruptly ends their fledging relationship the moment they return stateside. Leaving Hope more broken than before...
While I thoroughly enjoyed EVERY novel in this series, this was my favorite! Beau screwed up royally and had to work really hard to get Hope’s trust back. It was an emotional, devastating, page-turner, with a HEA. This is a story about healing and moving forward in life. The epilogues were FANTASTIC!!! I loved seeing how each family moved beyond the Delta Team while maintaining life-long friendships. I also loved the Beau & Hope reference from DAYS. I highly recommend this series to everyone! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
