Can two lost souls find redemption or are some transgressions beyond forgiveness?
Lieutenant Jonny Spencer’s life is spiraling out of control. With no end in sight, he withdraws. Giving in to the darkness is his only reprieve.
Roberta “Bobby” Layne knows what it means to live in the shadows. Her childhood was spent fading into obscurity—the darkness her only friend.
When Jonny’s latest case threatens to snap what’s left of his sanity, Bobby knows this is her last chance to pull him from the hell that awaits. But when her past comes to light, will she be strong enough to fight for the man she’s fallen in love with, or will she fall back into old habits and fade away?
Great series wrap up
I’ll admit, I was a bit confused by Bobby and Jonny’s connection as I have not read the whole Gemini Group series. There seemed to be a lot of backstory I wasn’t privy to, so it too, me a few chapters to catch up, but then I was all in. I loved these two damaged souls and how they came together to form one complete and loving one. Bobby may come off as a bit harsh at first, until you see the loving and loyal heart that’s hiding lots of childhood disfunction. Jonny is just as loving but he’s got stuff even more buried than Bobby does. Their metamorphosis, both together and separately, was fantastic for their own story but also helped bring the team together for the end of the series. I’ve still got a lot of catching up to do with Riley Edwards’ catalog, but every book I’ve read so far I’ve thoroughly enjoyed.
I absolutely loved Bobby and Jonny!!! They didn’t play games, they just went after what they wanted, and fought their demons together. I’m so sad this series is over, I’m gonna miss this group, but it was an outstanding series!!!
Oh So Good
This book is so good. It will have you laughing and then crying. I knew Jonny and Bobby each had secrets but never imagined what. They are heartbreaking and gut wrenching. Two lost souls come together and the healing starts. The road to redemption and forgiveness is a hard one but these two are tough. This is the last book in the Gemini Group Series and the epilogue is especially sweet.
