Crafty, compelling adventure!
This book moves fast! I think the number one way I would describe it is unpredictable. I felt, maybe, a little smug, predicting the outcomes of various subplots and mini dramas within the larger narrative. All of my predictions were pleasantly WRONG and the outcomes were original and uncontrived. There are high stakes adventure, zombies, betrayals, romance. Pretty much has it all. Sincerely a fun thriller of a book.
Book two doesn’t disappoint!
I was stoked to read this next book in the series, and it’s better than the first. The adventures of Miranda, Mario, and Doug continue, this time in a new community with new people and challenges. I don’t want to give anything away, so I’ll just say this book mixes adventure, humor, and love with heart-pounding terror. Zombies before and behind you, with things going from bad to worse to flat out dreadful. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
