A modern fairy tale that shakes up the genre
'The Wizard of O2' is a cleverly conceptualised take on the classic ‘Wizard of Oz’ fairy tale with fantastically clear and concise messaging regarding our current climate challenge. Well written and beautifully illustrated, this story is not just about the carbon cycle - it is most importantly about the vital necessity for truth in our society; from the family values of telling the truth to your parents - to the much broader implications of accepting lies and lying to ourselves. It is an empowering story with a great message for kids - even if they only take away the importance of not fibbing to Dad, then it’s a win. Adult readers will also appreciate the message that we must own up to the climate challenge and face it head-on. Really enjoyed the read!
