quite a surprise
Well this certainly had a few surprises. Theodosia literally runs into Samuel as she is fleeing the scene of a crime. The attraction is instant and even though he is a man of color and a gentleman below her station, they fall in love. Meanwhile her father and the odious Earl of Thornhurst have different plans. This story has strong abolitionist views, prejudice, blackmail, murder, steamy moments and a mouth dropping surprise. There are times when your heart will break for Theodosia and Samuel, other times when it will rejoice. This is very well done and a wonderful read.
