Claimed Among the Stars review for Taken to Revatu by Elizabeth Stephens
With a Fabulous story set within the Xiveri world a remarkably imaginative and expertly written narrative takes shape and finds its way into this reader’s heart. I loved lead characters Grizz and Latanya and was totally invested in their story as it opened with a terrifying tragedy and evolved into an all- consuming passion as the storyline advances.
From the feckless prince who must have Latanya at all costs to the Alien inhabitants of this new world the characterizations were detailed and compelling.
The writing was energetic, and absorbing told from dual points of view and the stories pace was evenly rendered at times intense. I felt as though I’d read an entire novel when I reached the end and in no way felt bereft of needing more. This was such a well told and engaging read which ended so perfectly as to leave a reader very satisfied with its surprising and very pleasing epilogue.

I received an ARC copy of this book for review and all opinions expressed are my own.

Many stories to love

This review is specifically for Elizabeth Stephens’ Taken to Revatu. I love the Xiveri Mates Universe and although this is definitely a stand alone, the writing style is the same and there are some great connections. I adored that Latanya could understand Grizz but he couldn’t understand her so she had to work at their communication. I also loved her fighting spirit. It was good to see this different group and their customs but still see the Xiveri strong within them. Loved the HEA and tie into the rest of the stories at the end. I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the stories in the anthology.

To Save a Planet

One of my favorite authors, Tasha Black, contributed her story Promised Mate to this anthology. Promised Mate is another entertaining tale, this time about a young lady contracted in an arranged marriage to save her planet, her cultural tutor, and a hidden agenda. Page turning, yes, sinister (mental) music in the background, yes, again, and glorious humor.
