New Reader.
I was supposed to only read to chapter 19, because I just joined a book club for the first time and that was the assignment. Before I knew it, I was at chapter 30 and thought I might as well finish! Was hooked from the summary as soon as I read HE RETURNED. The story almost felt drawn out, but it started to come together perfectly. I laughed at Emma’s paranoia. Lol, everyone was the culprit. This could be a great movie! On my way to the sequel!
Kept initial attention, then drags and poorly developed
This novel draws readers in quite quickly due to its premise of something terribly wrong occurring in the blink of an eye on an ordinary day.
The characters overall are relatively poorly developed, however, and some of the connections in the latter half of the book our jumping and really do not follow a logical pathway.
The animosity with friend Amy is contrived and becomes a bit ridiculous in its conclusion. The friends Josie and Hugh are extremely poorly developed to ultimately have such major rules. The sidebar about the Duke makes absolutely no sense. The behavior of Aiden is bizarre and also a little bit unbelievable. I wanted to like this book very much, but it ultimately really does not hang together.

Great story, many twists and turns I really enjoyed reading this book!!!!
