Milford’s is wonderfully poetic translation
The way Milford translated Sun Tzu into verse structure makes the text so much more engaging and accessible than Griffith or Giles (both great translation, of course). The lyric arrangement makes clear that this is a work of meditations and it draws out the structure of the mediations. It’s a wonderful way to read Sun Tzu.

A far better book with better translation, without any need for distracting footnotes that mar the appreciation of Sun Tzu himself.
