Timon of Athens

Generally regarded as one of Shakespeare's most obscure and difficult works, Timon of Athens is considered one of the playwright's "problem plays." Because of these problems, scholars have suggested that the play may have had a co-author. The story of an Athenian named Timon (possibly based on the historical philosopher of the same name), the tragedy is commonly studied with special attention paid to the banquets and feasting heavily mentioned in the work.
