Tries too hard to be cute
I don’t give up on books easily, especially mysteries, but this one I couldn’t get through. Too many metaphors, similes, puns, etc. I was rolling my eyes every other paragraph. Do not recommend.
Cliches galore
Thought this would never end. One cliche after another. For example I can’t count the number of times that one of the characters had a smile “that didn’t quite reach their eyes” and I thought oh no, not again!
Tea puns
The constant tea puns were annoying.
