Séance in Silhouette - A Shadow of Doubt

Paris, 1888. A private séance turns fatal when silhouette artist Marcel Fournier collapses at the table, seemingly attacked by the very shadow he feared. To Dr. Alistair Finch, a rational British physician known for debunking spiritualist frauds, the explanation is obvious: fear, manipulation, and a failing heart.

Étienne Duval refuses to accept that answer.

Marcel was more than a friend, though the world could never know how much more. Étienne knows Marcel had been hunted by something in the weeks before his death, something that moved in darkness and left terror where certainty should have been. When Alistair dismisses him as grief-stricken and irrational, Étienne does the one thing he can still do for the man he loved: he demands the truth.

Their investigation pulls them through the velvet-draped rooms of Parisian spiritualists, candlelit theatres, hidden records, dangerous patrons, and occult rituals designed to turn fear into obedience.
