SoulQuest: A Steampunk Fantasy

Steal from the rich or steal from the gods—same difference

Zarim, captain of the airship Excalibur, steals from the rich and answers to no one—except, occasionally, to Master Quand, the old wizard who raised him. When Quand senses the awakening of a Soulstone, one of five fragments of divine power sealed away centuries ago to keep the world from tearing itself apart, he sends Zarim after it. No pay. No safety net. Just trouble.

One stone turns into a job. A job turns into a war.

As word spreads that the Soulstones have woken, every faction with a taste for godhood starts hunting: the Church of Illumination and its ancient High Priest, who preaches salvation from a cathedral built on lies; the armored legions of the Dreadnoughts, sworn to torch any threat to the empire; and worse things still sleeping in the monster-choked wastes of Rolyeh, where dragons guard caves and sea beasts rule the coasts.

Zarim's crew never signed up to save the world. But every stone they recover drags them deeper into a fight none of them can walk away from—and closer to a secret Quand never told them: what happens the day someone finally holds all five.

Airship boarding parties, sword duels above the clouds, double-crosses, and a body count that won't quit—SoulQuest is old-school pulp adventure with a fantasy engine bolted on: gods, monsters, and a thief who has to decide whether power is worth becoming the thing he's spent his life stealing from. From Percival Constantine, author of The Myth Hunter series, comes a new world where science and fantasy combine!
