Revelations of the Unseen

In twelfth-century Baghdad, crowds gathered to hear one man speak about the states of the heart.

Shaykh Abd al-Qadir al-Jilani spoke of trial and provision, of leaving the self, of standing with God — and his own family preserved what he said. Futuh al-Ghayb, Revelations of the Unseen, gathers those discourses: seventy-eight short addresses that go straight to the condition of the listener, from the most honoured spiritual teacher of his century.

This edition gives every discourse in a clear English rendering, with a companion built for one discourse a day.

In this edition
• All seventy-eight discourses, translated from the classical Arabic and edited by hand
• An introduction, a discourse-a-day reading companion, and a study box for every discourse
• Qur'anic citations verified; a glossary and an index
