Ori: The Personal Orisha

Every Orisha in the pantheon can bless you. But one of them is you. Before you were born, your own head chose your destiny — and the Yoruba call it Ori.

In Yoruba wisdom, Ori is the most intimate and most powerful of all the Orisha: not a distant deity, but your own divine head — the seat of consciousness, intuition, and destiny itself. Before you entered this world, your Ori knelt before the Creator and chose the path you would walk. Every Orisha you honor works through your Ori; without its alignment, no blessing can land. This is why the elders teach a truth the world has forgotten: worship your head first. No spirit outside you can save a head that is out of alignment with itself.

In Ori: The Personal Orisha, #1 bestselling author Ajarn Shaman Shu (Oluwo Jolaoso Osainbola) opens the Yoruba science of the divine head — the ancient path to destiny, protection, and true spiritual self-mastery.

This book is Book 2 of the Orisha Library. Your next step: Egungun: Your Ancestors Are Still Talking — honor the head, then honor the ones who came before you.

About the Author
Robert S. Shumake, publishing as Ajarn Shaman Shu, has lived two lives in one — the builder and the priest — and his books are where the two meet. He rose from a Ford factory floor to become founding president and CEO of Inheritance Capital Group, a Black Enterprise-ranked private equity firm, served as honorary consul for Botswana and Tanzania, and founded Inheritance Media Group, owner of more than 300 publications produced by an AI-run newsroom. In spirit, each tradition that initiated him gave him a name: Buddhist Ajarn in the Theravada and Vajrayana lines, Oluwo Jolaoso Osainbola in Ifá, and Shri Surya Narayana Swamikal in the Tamil Siddha line. He is the founder of Soul Tribes International Ministries and of Buddha Digital Temple and its universities — Orisha University, Buddha University, and Shiva University. He authored Detroit’s Proposal E, the 2021 ballot initiative that decriminalized entheogenic plants in Detroit, and is the author of more than 140 published books and 86+ DOI-registered academic publications.
