A scorching saga of power and desire, inspired by the true story of an imperial princess famous for keeping a harem of thirty male concubines. Books 1-3 of the Princess Shanyin series + additional bonus short story - "Wanderers at the House of Floating Happiness" (Princess Shanyin #3.5).
Though Princess Shanyin has a harem of male concubines to serve her every need, from the moment she sees the handsome Chu Yuan, she has to have him. At her request, the Emperor gives the aristocrat over to Shanyin, setting off a power play of sensual torment and control between them.
While reading this i am trying to figure out where does Princess Shanyin's love for her sexual desire comes from? Is she in love with the men or just the sex? I don't feel many of the guys she sleeps with are romantic and even for the one guy she loves. After finishing the story i can't tell if she is in love with sex or the men or both. And the ending is also kind of confusing i feel there were not that many strong connection between the guy she loves. In the beginning of the story Princess Shanyin seems either just infatuated with him and he marries another women. Too much sexual desire but not connected to love in a way.
