Oliver Twist

Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens is a novel about Oliver Twist who is an orphan that travels to London after enduring a difficult life in a workhouse. In London, he encounters a gang of pickpockets led by Artful Dodger and is exposed to their illegal activities. Through Twist’s adventures and difficulties, Dickens unveils the cruel life for orphans in the 19th century.


Oliver Twist is one of Dickens’ great novels much like Great Expectations, Hard Times, A Tale of Two Cities, Bleak House, David Copperfield and A Christmas Carol.
