Gemi Draglen has been searching for the woman that is destined to become his Wella for hundreds of years. One eventful night while visiting the city of New Orleans, he unexpectedly sees the woman he wants to be his forever. Unfortunately, he has two very serious problems. First, the woman to become his Wella is a witch, an age old enemy to all dragons. Second and most importantly, she has no idea who Gemi truly is and he must convince her they belong together, forever.
Shalisi Narmon is no ordinary young lady. Shalisi is a witch from generations of witches and has known since birth that she is to have the most important role of all her sister witches. She has always accepted her destiny of becoming the Passer. At least that's what she has always believed until Gemi Draglen suddenly enters her life. She has never experienced love and could never love a dragon, an enemy to witches. It seems Gemi is not so easily deterred and is determined to win her affection and show her the joy that true love can give. Will Shalisi choose her sisters or the love of her life?
Risking it All For Love
Gemi is a dragon an a member of the royal family. He has been searching for his Wella (mate) and has finally found her. Shalisi is a witch from New Orleans and has been raised to believe that dragons are her enemy. She is in the process of taking on a very important role and knows that a relationship with Gemi would risk everything. Gemi has kept himself under control for decades and that control is under attack.
Gemi has been told stories about how witches can take control of dragons and knows his family will not be pleased with a union between them. He is not willing to let that jeopardize his happiness. He cajoles her and works hard to build the desire between them. Shalisi has lost her parents due to them going to the dark side. She isolates herself from others and doesn't do romance or even dates. It is going to take a lot to make her take a risk that could result in their deaths.
This is my first time reading a book by this author. I just jumped right into the series. There is a little vocabulary section at the front that introduces you to some of the terminology Gemi uses. He reminds me of a Arab sheik. The language definitely reinforced that image. He is a royal and used to getting what he wants. He really doesn't think of the consequences. Shalisi hasn't been brought up in an entitled environment and is much more risk adverse. The designation of being the Passer is important to her as it will differentiate her from the other members and put her in a position of power for the first time. It was interesting to see these two very different characters try to find a balance. Gemi is very seductive and you can understand the attraction.
I received a copy in return for a honest review.
I so loved GEMI & Lisi! Love conquers all even when punishment is on the horizon. Walking through fire for the one you love is priceless. I so hope there is a sequel in store for the family. This series is truly smoking with fire and the burn is so tantalizing. You are an amazing author and hopefully the wait is slowly coming to a close because Dra is just rude.
My new favorite Dragons
Gemi is convinced Shalisi is his fated. Shalisi is firm in her conviction to stay true to her witch sisters. She hasn't seen firm till she tries to deny their connection to Gemi. Gemi is trouble with a capital T. Shalisi is a strong confident woman, can they beet the odds and be together?
