Pretty good, but frustrating.
First off, let’s get it out the way. I really enjoy this book and the entire series. But, this book is starting to show some of the flaws of the series. Primarily the main character. He is extremely frustrating to read about the majority of the time. It’s mainly because with seven novels out, there has been practically no character change or growth. I mean isn’t it practically impossible that someone who has lived over a hundred years old now hasn’t changed at all or grown up mentally! I thought by at least this book he’d be growing to be better. At the very least with how he treats the women and his subjects. It was fun and funny in the earlier books but much of what’s been said and happening has already been done and is just being rehashed since he has no growth. Honestly it is to the point that depending on how the next novel or two goes, I might drop this series.
